Huntsman Springs Fireworks

One thing we've really enjoyed these last couple of years, is driving to Driggs Idaho to Huntsman Springs - to watch the firework display. It is always the Saturday before the 4th of July and we really really enjoy it. There is a huge grassy area, lots of bounce houses and vendors and this year the Beach Boys performed and then during the firework show, Lee Greenwood came out on stage and sang 'I'm Proud to be an American'. It was awesome!!

This year, Tyler got home from the Aaronic Priesthood Encampment around 2 in the afternoon. We left around 5 p.m., and it was HOT! Our car registered about 99 degrees. Needless to say, in that kind of heat, we forgot jackets and we only had one blanket. While driving, we reached Sugar City and the wind started picking up and it was 10 degrees cooler, just 10 minutes away. By the time we pulled into the parking for the fireworks, it was raining like crazy! Lots of dark clouds. We sat in the car for awhile and finally braved it. We felt lucky that it was cool  and it stopped raining! Beautiful night for fireworks. Just wish we had our jackets!

The bounce houses are free, and the little ones LOVE it! Helps work out some energy too!

We loved just hanging out and playing games and eating snacks while waiting for fireworks to start.

I probably haven't mentioned it yet, but we really enjoy this firwork show! :) Everything about it - and I think we have it down to a science. We know where to park and we are quick at getting out and getting home. Great weekend!

Summer Fun 2013

Our summer started quickly for us! School out on May 23, and a little while later the Spanish Fork Blake family came to visit. We always have so much fun with so many cousins to play with. On the first day they were here we traveled to Heise Hot springs and ate pizza. We have heard all about their pizza but this was our first time being there. It was good and it was fun just getting out. On the way home, we stopped at Cress Creek and did the quick little hike. I think the little people ran the whole way! I made all of them stop and pose for pictures along the way - as much as I could anyway!

We spent time playing lots and lots of volleyball and soccer. I think they spent almost all of their time outside. What a great purchase! Uncle Scott brought stuff for some of them to make rockets and on Saturday we went to a park and launched them. That was a big hit!! Always sad to see them go.

A few weeks later we were really happy to welcome the Gailey family from Utah.  Braden especially loves when Morgyn and Samantha come to visit. We spent a lot of time hanging out but some of the more fun things we got to do with the Gaileys were going to the splash park and riding the carousel. Always super fun!

Samantha has been taking swimming lessons and she really liked hanging out at the bottom of this slide that fills up with water.  Samantha also taught us some super fun songs of everything she learned in Kindergarten to the tune of 'The Adams Family.'  It was so fun seeing a whole new side of Samantha. She is dang cute!

Always a party when cousins come to visit. Wish they could do it more often!!
