What We've Been Up To

The month of May was crazy with end of the year school things. School ended a week earlier than expected this year because of budget cuts. Memorial Day Weekend came and it was spent cleaning and doing yard work. Our neighbors invited us over for hotdogs and marshmallows in their back yard. I didn't get any pictures of that though.

The first week out of school was cold and rainy - nearly everyday. We invited the neighbors over and made cookies. We had fun decorating them.

We've spent sometime sleeping in and enjoying nothing major to do. We did buy passes for the Paramount Theatre in town. We've been to see a couple of movies. We also bought passes for the craze zone - so far we've done laser tag, played in the play land and played miniature golf. Braden likes the playland. He crawled in and couldn't get out. That was fun. All kids have an experience like that I guess. This time however, I had older children that could climb in and get him out!

We had our annual HOA garage sale, clean-up, and bbq day. It was an awful weekend. June 12th was also the same day as the Teton Dam Marathon and it was just like a winter morning. It was so cold and windy! As you can imagine, we didn't have a lot of success - but I think we've gotten down some of the things that can make it run more smoothly.

We did purchase a giant elmo doll for Braden. It is a little bigger than Braden. I think the older kids like it a lot. After they went to bed one night, this is how we found elmo. What it doesn't show is that Elmo was in front of the t.v. Children are so funny!

Last week for Young Women's we tie dyed some shirts. By the time I got to the dye, there wasn't much left, but this is my creation. My hands still have dye on them and it has been almost a week! The girls are fighting over who gets to keep the shirt. I told them I might let them do one later this summer.

Another thing we've been waiting for is for some teeth to fall out. However, the girls had their permanent teeth grow in and the old ones didn't fall out, so they had a dentist appointment yesterday. I really thought it would only be a couple of teeth, but Kylie had to have 4 removed from the bottom, and McKenna had 3 removed from the bottom. They were such great little troopers. I wish their teeth would just fall out. After we got home Kylie kept asking me when her lip was going to go down. It took a couple of hours for the numbness to wear off. Now they speak a little funny - with slight lisps. Not that we are keeping track (ok, maybe we are) but in the last month we've lost a total of 10 teeth in this house. Tyler had two pulled, and the girls have each had four pulled. We've definitely been keeping the tooth fairy in business!

While the girls were getting their teeth pulled, Tyler got to go to day camp for scouts. He was SO EXCITED to go! He was awake by 6 a.m.. There were a lot of different stations and he brought home some cool things he made. I even gave him money to purchase a shirt - which he would live in if I let him. This is him modeling it.

Anyway, now that it is getting warmer, we are expecting to play outside a lot more, go to the splash park, and enjoy it while we can.

Kindergarten Program

The girls had a kindergarten program on May 19th. Sorry for the slowness in this post. Anyway, they did such a great job and it was a great program. Everything was spelled out on the program, and all of the kids got to choose if they wanted to speak or help lead a song. It was fun. These are pictures of them after the program, right by their tables.
