Church Stuff

So here is what's up with church. In January I was given a calling to be the laurel advisor, but it just so happened to work out that I haven't had to teach yet until today - Valentine's Day. I was nervous accepting this calling because Braden sure isn't the easiest little person to deal with lately. He does not like to cuddle, or sit still for that matter. He likes to be heard and makes all sorts of LOUD sounds. I haven't made it through a sacrament meeting inside the chapel for a very long time, and during sunday school and relief society I am always out in the hall. So I didn't know how I was going to deal with Braden when I am supposed to be teaching. However, I accepted the calling anyway.

When I came home that day in January, I had a new text message from Allen. He was going to be released. YAY! Yay for him that he can have a sunday nap and enjoy lunch with us and yay for us that he will get to be at church again with us. So, last Sunday the 7th of February, he was released and it just so happened that today was the first day he was able to come to church with us. It is like a little piece of heaven! :)

I have been extremely busy so far with young womens. New Beginnings, mutual activities and meetings. But, I am excited for this new change.

Since I don't have any specific pictures to put in here, I decided to put one in of Braden who is testing every limit possible. What a cutie!

Kylie's New Glasses

I have been really worried all year long. I knew it was time to see a new eye doctor for Kylie. Don't get me wrong, I loved our old one - he is truly one of the most generous and kindest person I have ever met. However, I have felt like progress was not being made to help her eye that slightly turns. I would always hear "don't worry, it will get better." I have studied on the subject a lot lately and have learned that if you don't get it corrected by the time they are 10, they lose function and the ability to ever fix it. So again, for an entire year I have felt stressed and worried about this. I decided that maybe a pediatric opthamologist would be our best bet. There is only one here in southeast idaho and he is in Pocatello - but our insurance wouldn't pay for him. They would pay for a couple down in Utah and I thought that is what we were going to have to do. Then we got lucky.

My parents found a relatively new guy here in Rexburg that they really liked and even talked with him a little bit about their granddaughter who had a bit of a lazy eye. He told them all about it and he has worked with little kids with it. So I made an appointment.
I have to say, I was extremely impressed and actually enjoyed our appointment. He was thorough - took the time, explained everything, and was very kid friendly. I am saying this because if anyone needs an eye doctor - I recommend him 100%. His name is Dr. Heiner. The other awesome part is that Kylie currently didn't have any glasses and they usually take a week to get in. He got them in two days and Kylie is so happy with them. She looks great!
