Happy Birthday Ty!!

Tyler had a great birthday this year! School was great and everyone made him a Happy Birthday Book with nice things they said and drew. I dropped off a box of hostess cupcakes for his class and Tyler was able to pass them out to everyone. He said the teacher had two. I told him it better have scored some extra credit points for him. We also had a party at the new Craze Fun Zone that opened up in Rexburg. It was ok. At least Tyler loved it. After the party we went to my parents house and shared some cupcakes and we opened up family gifts. Tyler received a MP3 player that he is so excited about. Unfortunately, we're having problems with it. If any of you know all about these things, please let me know!! Here are some pictures of Tyler at his party. The first is of Tyler doing the miniature golf. The second is where we had the presents and pizza, and the third is of everyone before they went in to play laser tag. That part was the coolest and I think we'll have to go back and do that sometime.

Braden Update

Yes...he's a crawler! He started crawling last month (before he was 6 months old), and he likes to pull himself up into a standing position. I actually was going to try and post this last week - but since I haven't, I will share what happened to him on Monday.

I blocked off the stairs with some totes that were full of stuff and actually pretty heavy to move. Tyler was watching him and playing with him while I was doing dishes. Tyler got up to open the door and I am not sure how - but he got his hand slammed in the door. So I was taking care of that problem when I heard Braden screaming. I looked around and somehow he had gotten through my "gate" and he fell all the way down the stairs. My heart stopped of course - and it was even worse when I went running down and saw that he had a bloody nose! I took him to the Dr. right away - they checked him out and told me he was okay but just to watch for bruising on his head. I of course had a sleepless night as I listened all night to make sure he was still breathing! Anyway, all is well now with him. These pictures aren't the greatest - but you get the general idea.

celebrate youth day

We went to the annual Celebrate Youth Day again this year. It was a lot less key - we didn't lose any children so I think it was a successful day! This post is mainly just pictures, but I did want to point out the obstacle course the girls ran through. I didn't think they would be able to make it with the rope that you have to climb up onto one side. But they both did awesome! They also were able to each get on the fire truck and climb up the ladder. I wouldn't have - but they went quite a ways before they decided to come down. Unfortunately, Tyler wasn't able to get on the fire truck because at that moment they decided to use the hose and spray any and everyone who wanted to get wet. Kylie especially took advantage of that opportunity and was soaking wet!!

Checking out the ambulance and having their oxygen levels checked

This is the obstacle course. It was huge!
And waiting in line for it.

Big bouncy slide. Kylie didn't want to get off of it this year either.

The exciting train ride.

Yep....it was great!!

The bubble station

The animal walk station. Everytime they completed an animal, they got a package of animal crackers.

Kylie having fun.

At the book station. They got a free book!
All in all it was a really fun day and they had a great time. It was nice because Allen was also able to join us which the kids really enjoyed.

First Day of School

We were so excited for the first day of school to start. McKenna woke up around 5:30 a.m. - ready to get going. Tyler even woke up with just a few soft beeps from his alarm clock. Kylie is mine. She likes to sleep in! Tyler played it really cool and left pretty quickly when he could. His teacher is Mr. Moss and he really seems to enjoy him so far. This is Ty before he left.

We had some time before the girls had to leave, and all I heard every 5 minutes was "is it time yet?" They were so excited to get to school and I was equally as excited for them. This is them outside before we started walking to the bus stop.

Then we met up with their friend Jocelyn. She is in the other kindergarten afternoon class - but they have been "playing" riding the bus for quite a long time. This is them all together and of course a shot of their back packs that they were so excited about.

And this is the bus as it drove away. It was so late and there were so many bus problems this day. The driver said it was because of all of the parents that stop to take pictures. I didn't understand this, because my picture taking doesn't cause the bus to stop longer then normal. I later learned that there were so many parents who actually follow their child on the bus, take pictures of them sitting in their seat, follow the bus , get on the bus and take pictures of their child getting off the bus. Sorry if I offend, but seriously! Can we say helicopter parents???

"Meet Your Teacher"

The kindergarten teachers set up a day where the new students come and "tour" the school and meet their teacher and look at their classroom. The girls teacher is Mrs. Williams. So far I really like her. She herself has twin boys - one is right handed and one is left handed - like my girls, so she said she will be able to help me with McKenna and her left handedness. They made name tags and got to see where the bus would drop them off and of course we got to see that the playground wasn't done yet. Serious disappointment from McKenna. They were really excited about it and so this is them standing outside their classroom.

Then we decided to go and check out Ty's classroom. His teacher is Mr. Moss this year. He was in setting up his classroom still, but Ty was so embarrassed about seeing him so we didn't introduce ourselves. Which now I wish we would have - but that's okay. Here is Tyler outside his classroom.

Of course we couldn't leave the school without me making them get their picture taken outside the school. There was a line of parents waiting to do this very thing. However, the sun was extremely bright and so it isn't the best picture. I'll have to take them over again sometime and make them stand there again. They will really like that!

All in all, we are very excited for school to start and were grateful for this fun little opportunity for the girls to go and see how things work.

South Fork Bobcats

Here are my three older children. They got these brand new shirts during registration. They are supposed to wear them every Friday to show their school pride. They were so excited to get them, it was hard to get them to wear them on Friday only. They would be happy if I let them wear them every day!

"Garage Sale"

In August, my little people came up with the idea to have a "garage sale." So they and some of the neighbors got out the table and some chairs and worked for hours on "artwork" to sale. They went house to house to tell people to come and look and would yell at cars as they would pass by. I thought it was nice of the people who bought. Anyway, here are the little entrepreneurs.
