Spring Break - Day One

What is better than sleeping in, enjoying breakfast, and playing the wii? Hard to imagine, but it got even better when we made sugar cookies! Flour everywhere, all sorts of cookie cutters, kids covered in dough. I rolled out the dough, the kids got to take turns using cookie cutters and cutting out a dozen shapes at a time. Tyler wanted so bad to help take out of the oven, and so I let him. I don't think he noticed me standing right behind him watching every move so he wouldn't get burned. At the very end of the dough, I split it into three sections and let them roll out their own dough and then cut out whatever they wanted to.

I told Allen I would make the cookies, but I hate frosting them. So later that night, Allen and the kids all frosted and decorated their sugar cookies. They did a great job and I am impressed by the pastel colors Allen made!
Braden is funny. When he knows there is food that he likes, he will stand in the kitchen next to the counter and just "squak" until he gets what he wants. If you have heard him "squak", you know how loud he can be. Unfortunately, he likes the sugar cookies and there has been a lot of squaking at our house the last 24 hours. Beware!
By the way, if any of you are inquiring, we still have plenty! The catch is - you just have to come pick some up!

I gave up making sugar cookies a few years ago. You're a better mom than me! They're an exhausting project, but probably my favorite cookie.

Will there be some left in 2 1/2 weeks?
