Girl's Camp

Girl's Camp 2011 was at the beginning of August. I went up Wednesday and came back on Friday. I had a good time, but ask me if I was tired and that would be an understatement.  It EXHAUSTED me. I just couldn't sleep. However, it was still fun and I'm glad I had the chance to go.

The first night I was there, we had skits. The girls all did a great job and they were fun to watch. Later that night, after the girls were in bed, the leaders went up to the lodge where we played Just Dance 2 with a bunch of other leaders from the stake. That was so fun! I love that wii game and would love to get it sometime.

Thursday was service and craft day and while they were gone, I actually got to take a much needed shower. We visited for awhile (as leaders). Unfortunately, two of the leaders had to go home that night, but we were lucky and had another one come up.

Thursday was also testimony meeting and it was so nice to be there for that. The spirit was really powerful and I am glad I got to attend that. Towards the end it started raining, so we moved into a shelter, at which time it was raining heavily. The shelter we were in didn't have a bottom and a little mouse ran in during testimony meeting. One girl had a bloody nose that wouldn't stop. Testimony meeting ended pretty quick at that time.

We got all the girls settled and made sure everything was dry and ok. It ended up raining all night long, plus the thunder and the lightning that made it bright as day. I layed in the tent almost all night just listening and watching. Around 3 a..m. the first year tent had collapsed. With a few meltdowns, we got them all moved into the priesthood tent which wasn't being used and it all worked out. Glad it is over, but glad I went.

When I got back, after I showered, we had some errands we had to run, and we stopped by the carousel to let the kids ride it. I was impressed that Braden was on a little horse. I had taken him a few days before I left, but I couldn't get him to get on it - not even just by sitting on a bench. As you can see, he is pretty proud of his accomplishment.

Your camp experience sounded like a lot more fun than mine! I have to say I'm glad we had cabins though! Tyler is such a good big brother!
