At the beginning of December, one of the lenses of Kylie's glasses popped out and we had no idea where it was. We searched and searched everywhere but with no luck. She had had that pair of glasses for two years now, and our insurance wouldn't pay for a new eye exam until January. So for the month of December, Kylie was kind of blind. We knew we wanted to get her a new frame in January and it just didn't make sense to spend a lot of money on a new lens just to change them in a month.
The day of her appointment arrived and she was so excited. I think she enjoys the attention and of course the sucker at the end! It was funny to hear the Dr ask her questions and to tell him when things were too fuzzy. She told him when things were fuzzy - I hope she knew what he meant. However the good news is her eyes have improved a little. The Dr said we will really notice a difference in the next few years.
Out of the exam room and off to pick out frames. They had a disney princess cinderella (her absolute favorite princess) frame. The lady helping us tried a bunch of different ones, but as soon as Kylie knew these were cinderella princess frames, her mind was set. They have a little heart on the temple and on the very end of the temple where it rests on the ear, is the shape of a glass slipper. It usually takes a couple of weeks when they have to order lenses, you can imagine my surprise - as well as hers when they told us we could pick them up in a few hours. For those few hours Kylie couldn't wait. For her it was like Christmas morning and the wait was killing her.
When we went to pick them up, she tried them on, they adjusted them and she was absolutely beaming. You could tell she felt very good about herself in them. I didn't think her excitement could expand any further. That is until they gave her the case in which they come. It was a little pink purse that says princess on the outside. She is definitely in heaven!
