My wonderful husband had another birthday! He seemed pretty indifferent about it, but we always have to live it up! For his actual birthday we went to pizza hut, came home and had a cupcake, and opened presents. While some people may think less of us for admitting to this, we got him birthday presents at the dollor store. There is always fun little treasures there, plus it really empowers the kids to be able to pick out something all by themselves. Always makes for interesting presents though.
This year he got a flashlight, some tools, cd holders, and silly string. That was a highlight. The kids all stood in the kitchen and Allen sprayed it at them. They all loved it, including Braden.
The next day we celebrated by seeing a movie and going out for dinner with some friends. We decided we don't get out enough. We had a great time!
All in all, a great birthday and we are so grateful for such a wonderful dad and husband!

I remember back in December taking your kids to the dollar store so they could pick something up for each other.... what a hoot. I told them to separate and if they see a sibling on the same aisle they should turn around and go to another aisle.
That's when it started. They wore me ragged!
Kids here, there, up front, in the back, over hill and dale... it didn't take long until I'd lost all three of them.
Then, when it came time to pay (each using his/her own money) I had to keep them on separate registers yet be close enough in case they had overspent... in the middle of this I realized... WHERE'S KYLIE????
Searched the store, couldn't find her anywhere... panic... it all worked out. Kylie had gone to the register via one aisle (not wanting to share it with anyone she knew) while I was walking to the back of the store on another.
Merry Christmas! ( I don't know you parents do it! )
